This is the third page in a series of photos of Cambera Mahogany (technically called Cambera Philippine Mahogany) for a screen porch ceiling we did for a client in Northern Virginia. The owner (O'Connor) had us design and build a beautiful Ipe deck with white Fairway Composite Railings, white vinyl trim, and Cambera Philippine Mahogany ceiling inside their screen porch. One big reason the O'Connors and others have been gravitating away from pressure treated and toward the exotic hardwoods like Ipe, Cambera Mahogany, and Massaranduba (Massaranduba is actually more attractive than Ipe, same low maintenance, but costs about 10% less), is because the maintenance is significantly lower than pressure treated but they still get the beauty of some of the world's most attractive wood. |
Both photos below are of the O'Connor deck and porch... a beautiful
combination of
low maintenance Ipe decking, Fairway Composite Railing, and Cambera Philippine
Mahogany
"V"
groove ceiling (with 2 coats of clear polyurethane). Notice the ceiling lights
and how they
accent the beauty of the Cambera Mahogany ceiling.
